How it Works
Stack Carbon implements a localized biochar production and utilization initiative in cooperation with village farming cooperatives to verifiably sequester carbon while increasing agricultural productivity and climate resilience.
By turning low-value agricultural waste streams into an in-demand soil amendment using tailor-made technologies, this solution unlocks holistic rural development alongside steady carbon removal.
Feedstock sourcing:
We cooperatively source widely available agricultural residues like corn stalks and wood chips across smallholder plots that previously lacked productive usage.
Thermal Transformation:
The biomass waste is then fed into our mobile airtight pyrolysis reactors, applying heat without oxygen. The organic matter decomposes and reforms into porous, carbon-rich biochar.
Soil Amendment:
The biochar is then applied as a soil conditioner on the smallholder farmlands. Biochar dramatically enhances soil fertility, water retention and carbon sequestration
