Exploring Sustainable Sourcing with ALOM Geomine

We recently had an impactful meeting with ALOM Geomine to explore sustainable sourcing practices for basalt, a key mineral for our Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW) project. Alom Geomine is not only a mining company focused on the extraction and processing of essential minerals and rocks, but they’re also dedicated to operating with a sustainability-first mindset.

Throughout our discussions, it was clear that Alom is committed to environmentally responsible practices, including measures to minimize ecological impact and implement robust safety protocols to protect their workforce and surrounding communities. These health and environmental safeguards are especially critical as we work toward scalable ERW solutions that capture carbon and enrich soil health.

By collaborating with Alom, we’re ensuring that our project’s supply chain aligns with our commitment to sustainability, social safeguards, and overall environmental stewardship.

It’s collaborations like these that bring us closer to a carbon-neutral future, where responsible sourcing, health and ecological considerations are not just priorities but foundational practices. Excited for the path ahead and the shared impact we’re creating!

Building the Foundation for Carbon Removal

The work starts long before we ever break ground. It begins with baseline sampling, a crucial first step in our Karibu Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW) project. Our science team is on the ground, systematically collecting samples to establish the baseline state of the soil. This forms the foundation of our project, enabling us to precisely track impact and demonstrate the effectiveness of our 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗮𝗹 efforts.
